The Youth Exchange project: “We Can Change to Better” was implemented in partnership with youth organisations from Georgia, Italy, Latvia and Moldova in Kobuleti. The project was successful in achieving its aims and in terms of its outcomes. The initial aim of the project was to promote the tolerance and social inclusion among young people through empowering them with necessary skills in overcoming various forms of discrimination.

The project was focused on rising European citizenship awareness of diverse youth groups, on development role of young people in changing the life to the better and on building self-confidence of disadvantaged groups to become better citizens.

The intercultural learning was envisaged in all activities during the project. We see this element as one of the most important tool for the success of the project. In this regard, the greatest contribution was made by the country presentations and group presentations which gave an unique possibility to the participant to learn about each other’s culture, old and modern history, heritage, as well as about all things which make their culture unique in the world, would it be Moldovian wedding dance (enjoyed by everyone during the whole project), Latvian delicious cuisine and energetic folk dance, aroma of Italian coffee and spirit of Italian football or taste of Georgian wine encouraging more open intercultural sharing after the official agenda of the day. All these things, feelings, knowledge, information with lots of others will always remind us the lesson which all participants learnt and observed during the exchange: the only way towards tolerance lies through the intercultural understanding.

More detailed information about the project can be obtained from the final report to be published and available at the office of the Union “Century 21”.

We tried to get know the perfect image of multicultural community based on tolerance and respect towards individuality.

We believe that music is universal language of young people. Our life is influenced by different communities that we belong to. Being a member of some communities is our independence choice. Moreover, we have belonged to some communities since we were born. Everybody is a world citizen, a citizen of their native country, a member of a human family.
