Youth and Children Programme

The Programme is aimed at helping young people and children to become active citizens and take their merits in building and ensuring democracy at all levels. It promotes the idea of diversity in democratic society and develops necessary skills and knowledge of young people.

The programme was established on 12 August - International Youth Day, to emphasis the role of young people and children in addressing the challenges of a new millennium.

We implement our main objectives through various activities giving to young people and children more possibilities for expressing themselves. The target group of the programme is young people and children in general, especially those with fewer opportunities.

The programme operates based on the principles of equality and tolerance. Promoted with this idea, the programme is opened for all interested and motivated young people who share our working principles.

The programme members are involved in youth activities at national and international levels.

Our work is focused on two main divisions - European Youth Partnership and Active Citizenship both for young people and children.

Working Group on Environmental Issues - "Youth for Safe Environment"
was established by young people interested in work on environmental problems. The working group will work on implementation specific projects and initiatives in this field.

Working Group on Women's Rights
has been created by young women working in regions with girls and young women from vulnerable groups. The group is focused on educational activities and awareness raising of such groups.

Active Citizenship

The training course “Religious Youth Promoting Dialogue: A Way to Respecting Equality and Diversity” was organised within the “All Different - All Equal” a European campaign on Diversity, Human Rights and Participation.

EDC: Education for Democratic Citizenship has become one of the most prior areas of the Children and Youth Programme.

Training Course: Political Leadership Skills for the Next Generation of Politicians was held in October 2004 with support from the AMF.

On 9 November, 2005 was organized the campaign dedicated to the celebration of the International Day Against Fascism and Anti-Semitism.

The Project: Stolen Childhood - We should have it back took place with support of the IYF in September 2004.

For the Legal Education of Georgian and Ossetian Young People The project was implemented with support from the "Open Society - Georgia" Foundation in 2001.

Youth Exchange project “Intercultural Tolerance Growing Through Outdoor Methodology“ placed in Lithuania from 10th -24th of July 2006 hosted by Vilnius Scout Center.

Youth Exchange project "We Can Change To Better" (EU YOUTH Programme) 15 - 21 June, 2006 in Kobuleti, Georgia was orginised with parnter organisations from Georgia, Italy, Latvia and Moldova.

The training course Volunteer`s School took place in Funen, Denmark on 6-13 November, 2005. It was organized with support of the European Commission YOUTH programme.

The Youth Exchange Singing European Union Citizen took place in Krakow, Poland on 14-21 September, 2005.

The Youth Exchange Water and Youth was organized with support of the YOUTH programme on 26 August - 1 Sept. 2005 in Stepanavan, Armenia.
